Odeda Local Government Partners ASSAPIN on Self Sustainance in Food Production

As part of it’s efforts to key into the Self Sustainance in Food Production Agenda of the federal government, Odeda local government has partnered with the Association of Small Scale Agro-producers in Nigeria (ASSAPIN), a non governmental organisation, specialised in agro farming, sales and marketing as well as training consultancy in collaboration with Agricultural Development Project.
The Executive Chairman, Odeda local government, Hon. Afolasade Adeyemo, in her keynote address, enjoined the farmers in the Council Area, to see the distribution of farm products and seedlings as an opportunity to support and improve the Agricultural Sector for sustainable development in the locality.
The Council Boss, said this during the flagged-off ceremony of the Agricultural program, held on the 26th April, 2022 at Emere Town Hall, Odeda.
She stressed the importance of the Association of Small Scale Agro Producers in Nigeria as germane with their vision, which is to envisage a just and equity Nigeria, in which small scale farmers are recognized and empower for hunger free and wealthier nation.
Earlier speaking, Ambassador Akin Davies, Chairman ASSAPIN, charged the farmers in the local government area to be more pro-active in producing more of the cassava flour and ofada rice as the Council is endowed with natural products.
In the same vein, Mrs Omolara Oguntuyi, the South west zonal Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, appreciated the co-ordinator of the program, Ambassador Akin Davies, for giving the Council Area, the privilege to kick start the program and also enjoined the farmers not to sell the farm products to other person except for the association.
One of the beneficiary of the program, Mrs Bernice Ajani, appreciated the initiator of the program, for deeming it fit to organize it.
In attendance were all Political functionaries, Head of Local Government Administration, Ms olufunke Adeniji and Heads of departments.
