Odogbolu LG Boss, Ladejobi Pays Condolence Visit to Family of Late Gen. Oladipupo Diya Commends Deceased’s Giant Strides

The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Shuaib Adebayo Ladejobi, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Gen. Oladipupo Diya at the deceased’s residence in Lagos on Tuesday, 28th March, 2023.

The Council boss was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Secretary to Local Government, Head of Local Government Administration,p members of the executive and legislative councils, Political Functionaries, and management staff of the local Government.

Including the member of Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Odogbolu State Constituency, Hon. Atinuke Bello.

The Chairman in his words stated that “it is worthy of note that the Late General Diya, a former Chief of General Staff during the General Sanni Abacha’s military regime, a former Military Governor of Ogun State and an Elder statesman, is a native of Odogbolu town, the headquarters of Odogbolu Local Government, and had contributed immensely to the development of the community and the local government at large”.

According to Hon. Ladejobi, Late Gen. Diya was known for his disciplinary principles and as someone who has genuine love for his town. It is commendable that he set up a library in the council area, where students can access different books and read.

Receiving the Council Boss and his entourage on behalf of the family, Dr Tunde Diya, son of the deceased, led the visitors to the widow, Madam Josephine Diya, who received the Condolence letter from the Local Government on behalf of the family members.

A former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and also a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Wole Diya was also part of the family members that received the Council Chairman and his entourage.

Responding on behalf of the family, Dr. Tunde Diya, thanked the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ladejobi, the political functionaries and the Management team for showing concerns to the family.

On the Chairman’s entourage were; The Vice Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Iretiolu Adenugba; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Fashola Olamide; Members of the Odogbolu Legislative Council, Hon. Muritala Tijani, Hon. Aderibigbe Oluwaseun, Hon. Ekitunde Olukoya and Hon. Hammed Yussuf Moboluwaduro.

Members of the Executive on the sympathy visit were Hon. Ayodele Onabanjo, Supervisor for Information; Hon. Olajide Balogun, Supervisor for Health; Hon. Ilusanya Folabomi, Supervisor for Agriculture; Hon. Rahman Olusada, Supervisor for Works and Security; and Hon. Azeez Akinwande, Supervisor for Special Duties and Hon. Prince Adedotun Adeboye, Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue; Hon.(Mrs) Adebanjo Tairat, Special Adviser on Women Affairs; Hon. Engr. Odunayo Osunkoya.

The members of the management team are; Sanitaria Odunfa Ademola, Director of Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation; who represented the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mrs. Bola Oshin; and Mrs. Titilayo Ayanwale, Head, Information, Education, and Sports.
