Ogun Basic Health Insurance Scheme: Hon Delano Enrolls Ifo LG Indigenes

As part of activities marking the one year in office of Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano, the Executive Chairman, Ifo Local Government, has enrolled more than One Hundred and Twenty (120) indigenes of the Council Area, into the Ogun State Basic Health Insurance Scheme, a programme launched recently by the governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, to cater for the health needs of pregnant women, children and the aged.
Speaking at the event held recently at Olose Health Centre, Ifo, amidst mammoth crowd of inhabitants of the Council Area, Hon. Kikelomo Delano, congratulated all the beneficiaries of the programme, whose subscription fee were fully paid by the Local Government in line with the improved health program of her administration.
She stated that, the beneficiaries were carefully selected across all the Eleven (11) wards of the Council Area.
Hon. Delano stressed further, that the health care intervention fund is targeted at providing basic health care services to the vulnerable cropped of the people, such as pregnant women, children under the age of 5 and the aged.
According to her, the intervention by the Local Government was made to encourage the citizen’s participation in the State Government health insurance programme.
She also hinted that the programme is first of its kind which is aimed at making basic health care easily accessible and affordable to the people of the Council Area.
While speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chief Omotola Adebowale, the Lukotun of Ifo Land appreciated the Ogun State Government for the initiative as well as the Executive Chairman, Ifo Local Government, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunnu Delano for enrolling the beneficiaries in the health insurance scheme.
He also thanked the Council boss for her giant strides in the health sector, while using the opportunity to enlightened the populace on the importance of the health insurance scheme which is going to make health care delivery more affordable and accessible to the entire members of the public.
In a related development, the Chairman, Hon. Delano also distributed Forty leaves notebooks to the parents, in a bid to assist them, for their wards that will be resuming back to school for the 2022/2023 academic session.
She disclosed that the notebooks were donated by friends of her administration, to mark her one year in office.
