Ogun LGSC Harps on Training, Re- Training of its Workforce

The Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, LGSC, Barrister Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, has vowed to continue to give the training of its workers an upmost priority in order for them to be in line with the best global work practices.

Barrister Onabanjo stated this in ijebu-Ode on Thursday, 19th May, 2022, while declaring open a day short course and update meeting for the Community Health Extension Workers, (CHEW) and Junior Community Health Extension Workers, JCHEW, drawn from Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu North -East and Odogbolu Local Governments.

Represented by Dr. Oluwasesan Abolaji Fagbayi, Full Time Commissioner III of the LGSC, Onabanjo who spoke on the theme: Immunization Coverage, Maternal and Child Mortality rate Reduction in various communities within Ogun state, said as Health workers, the need for them to be abreast of innovation on ways to improve their task is highly essential.

She stated further that, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission will continue to give the training and retraining of workers as priority in order for them to stand out amongst their peers at both local and state government levels across the country.

She revealed that “the short course is of utmost importance because of the priority, Prince Dapo Abiodun led government places on the wellbeing of the people at the grassroots, most especially in the Health care sector.

In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, LGSC, Dr Adeolu Oluwaseun Olufowobi, stressed the importance of the training as it will help medical health workers to improve on their professions.

While appreciating the Commission On behalf of the Participants, Mr. Adekoya Adewale, promised to improve in the discharge of their duties.

He then appealed to the Commission, to help equip all the local government Primary Health care centers with modern facilities to work on and provision of more Health personnel in various Health centers across the 20 Local Government Areas in Ogun State.

The programme which was held at the Itoro Hall, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Secretariat had in attendance; Full Time Commissioner III, Dr. Olusesan Abolaji Fagbayi;  Permanent Secretary, LGSC, Dr Adeolu Oluwaseun Olufowobi; Directors in LGSC and the Information crew amongst others.
