Ogun Police Command Appeals to Political Parties to Eschew Violence and Campaign Peacefully

In view of the forthcoming general election and the electioneering campaign going on across the state, the Ogun state Police Command, has appealed to the members of various political parties to eschew violence and go about their campaign in peaceful manner.

According to a Release signed by the command public relations officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Command is satisfied with the peaceful conduct of parties so far and enjoined them to sustain the tempo.

The Command also appealed to candidates of all the parties to advise their supporters on the need for them to play the game according to the rule, and make their campaign an issue based one rather than attacking one another.

In the statement, Ogun state police command, also assured the general public of their safety, as robust security arrangement has been put in place to forestall any form of breakdown of law and order.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, while wishing the political parties itch free electioneering campaign, enjoined
Parents to call their wards to order.

“As anyone caught fomenting trouble in any part of the state, under any guise will be dealt with in the most decisive manner,” CP said.
