
Ogun State Emergency Management Agency releases Financial Aid to Fire Victims in Matogun, Ifo LG

Ogun State Government through the state emergency management agency, SEMA, today, presented financial assistance to vilctims of fire disaster in Oluyole community in Matogun area of Ifo Local Government, Ogun State.
While handing over the relief assistance to the victims, the Honorable Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Mrs Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan commended the efforts of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for prompt approval and disbursing of the funds for intervention.
It would be recalled that on Saturday, 3rd September, 2022 there were fire incidents in Oluyole Community that caused colossal damages in the area.
She also sympathized with the people whose properties were affected, while appreciating the youths of the area for their selfless efforts and courage to save lives and properties on the said day.
“Indeed you are courageous Sons and daughters of this Community” Oduntan said.
She stated that the financial assistance given to the beneficiaries, is a way of identifying with the victims and cushioning the effects of the disaster.
“I will like to charge you all to brace for the challenges of disaster prevention at all times. Safety of lives and properties should be Paramount to us. Let us be very careful with inflammation items and equipments that can cause fire” Oduntan advised.
Welcoming the State delegation earlier, the executive chairman, Ifo Local Government, Hon. (Mrs) Kikelomo Delano expressed profound gratitude to the State Government for coming to the aid of their people by putting smiles on their faces, saying Government has indeed raised their hopes once again and this gesture will surely bring succour to the affected victims.
Among the people who witnessed the distribution of funds were; the representative of Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs Adijat Adeleye-Olanrewaju; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties and Inter-Governnental Affairs, Mr Adewale Aka; Permanent Secretary, Mr. Azzez Benson; Director, State Emergency Agency, Mr. Olawale Sonde; Council of Baales, Leaders of Community Development Association (C.D.A.) amongst others.
