Ogun State LGSC Organizes a day Induction Excersise for Newly Converted Officers

The Ogun State Local Government Service Commission has charged the officers, who were recently converted into the prestigious unified staff cadres of the Commission to think out of the box in ensuring that they render quality services in their new positions.
The Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo gave the charge while addressing the newly inducted officers, on the roles expected of them in their new positions.
Barrister Onabanjo stated that, the induction programme was put together to acquaint the officers with the basic knowledge, work ethics and moral conducts required of them to perform optimally in their new cadres.
“There is going to be a change in your status, functions, expected roles and responsibilities due to your movement from the junior cadre to the superior officers’ cadres. You will be entrusted with higher responsibilities and you are expected to be diligent, ingenious and resourceful in the discharge of your new roles” LGSC chairman said.
She further charged them, to exhibit a high sense of professionalism and the need to think out of the box to satisfactorily, render qualitative and enduring services to the populace in line with the international best practices.
She affirmed that, the Local Government Service has produced and still producing enviable personnel of repute with available records to testify to the impressive performance of the management staff at the State Executive Leadership Pipeline Development Programme and the Administration Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo Badagry.
Barr. Onabanjo also attested that, lots of local government staff excelled during the penultimate examinations at the state level.
Also speaking at the induction program, the Permanent Secretary, LGSC, Dr. Adeolu Oluseun Olufowobi stressed the importance of the training, in helping the newly converted Officers to improve on their performances.
Oluwofobi said “many of you have gone through rigorous activities before arriving at your present position, your role must be changed now.”
He further disclosed that, about 345 officers were converted to various cadres by the Local Government Service Commission and advised the newly converted officers to be diligent and have the ability to tolerate others.
While appreciating the Commission for the induction on behalf of other participants, Mr. Seyi Ilori, promised improvements in discharge of their duties diligently and accurately.
The programme which was held at the Crescent Muslim Professionals Hall, Leme Abeokuta, had in attendance, the Full time Commissioners, Directors, Assistant Directors and the Information crew of the Local Government Service Commission.
