Ogun State LGSC Organizes Training for Community Health Extension Workers

The Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, LGSC, has organised training for the community health workers from Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside local government areas of the state.
The training which held at “De Millennium Hall”, Local Government secretariat, Ijebu Ode, was to improve productivity and service delivery to the people at the grassroots.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Barrister Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo said the training is in conformity with the vision of Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration.
She vowed to continue to give the training of its workers an upmost priority in order for them to be in line with the best global practice.
She said participants are to be better equipped to cope with the changes and challenges in the health sector.
Onabanjo reiterated that the outcome of the training would be explored in various health facilities, as this will go a long way in justifying the huge amount invested in the training.
“It’s my strong belief that, it will also give members of the public a change of mind concerning the attitude and capabilities of Primary Healthcare personnels in the Local Government Areas” the chairman said.
She stated that Ogun State Local Government Service Commission will continue to put the training and retraining of its workers on the front burner, in order for them to stand out amongst their peers at both local and state government levels, across the country.
She opined that the short course is of utmost importance because of the priority Dapo Abiodun led government places on the wellbeing of the people at the grassroots, most especially, in the health care sector.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Dr Adeolu Oluseun Olufowobi stressed the importance of the training as it will help medical and health workers to improve on their professions.
“This is an update meeting where we rub minds together and discuss your roles in service delivery, and I urge you, to put into use, the outcome of this training exercise” olufowobi advised.
While appreciating the commission on behalf of the participants, Mr Adebayo applauded the commission and appealed for continuous training.
He also commended the commission for the approval of promotion excersise for all cadres in the Ogun State Local Government Service.
