ONIKOYI CALLS FOR RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE, AS IPOKIA LG HOLDS CAROL AND THANKSGIVING SERVICE AMIDST FUN FARE

Ipokia Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Agbetokun Olawale Wasiu (Onikoyi),  has charged Nigerians to imbibe the tenets of Christianity which preaches peace, love tolerance, harmony and fear of God.

Onikoyi, made this charge during this year’s Ipokia Local Government 2021 Christmas carol and Thanksgiving service, which was held at the Council premises recently.

Ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon Sewanu James Makanjuola at the colourful ceremony, Hon. Agbetokun Onikoyi, stressed that, the birth of Jesus Christ is a milestone and turning point in the life and history of humanity, in the sense that “Jesus Christ came to redeemed the World.

Onikoyi urged people of different religion to continue to live in Peace and contribute their quota to the development  and progress of the society.

In his short sermon during the event, Bishop (Dr.) Reuben Akanbi Adebiyi (JP) of New World Church of Peace (Aladura), Ipokia, called on people to get closer to God and participate actively in God’s work.

He prayed for the protection, progress and abundant blessings in the new year for the Council’s  Political Functionaries, Management and Staffs.

Various Bible lessons about the birth of Jesus Christ were read by dignitaries.

Dignitaries, Staffs and Visitors were treated to various melodious Christmas Carol and Praise Songs by the Local government Choir, while people danced graciously in appreciation of the Lord’s blessings during the outgoing year in anticipation for the coming Year.
