ONIKOYI FLAG- OFF CAMPAIGN AGAINST OPEN DEFACATION IN IPOKIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The Executive Chairman Ipokia Local Government, Hon Agbetokun Olawale Wasiu- Onikoyi has commended both the Federal and State Governments efforts in  renewed drive to make the country healthy with their various health oriented programs.

Onikoyi made this commendation at the flag-off Ceremony for the  training of Volunteer “Youths Against Open Defacation” in the Council Area at the Council’s Secretariat recently.

Hon Agbetokun who was ably represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon Sewanu James Makanjuola, in his Key note address, lectured  the audience on the dangers involved in open defacation and charged everyone to campaign vigorously against the unhygienic practice.

He also urged participants to take the training with all seriousness and execute the assignment with high degree of responsibility in collaborating with the Water and Environmental Sanitation department in the Local government in case of challenges and logistics.

In her short address, the Ogun state Coordinator in charge of the program, Mrs Adeaga Olufunke Dorcas emphasized the dangers involved in open defacation practice and called for its abolition.

She equally charged the trainees to do a thorough job and disclosed that the State Government will soon construct additional toilets in all the hooks and crannies of the Council Area.
