ONIKOYI LAUDS GOVERNMENT AND NGOS ON WATER PROVISION PROJECTS IN IPOKIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The Executive Chairman Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Agbetokun Olawale Wasiu – ONIKOYI has lauded the Federal, State Governments and Non- Governmental Organizations Society (NGOs) for Water Supply and Sanitation Partnership on hygiene and construction of New bore holes, rehabilitation of existing ones and provision of Solar Energy in twenty communities within the Council Area.

Hon  Agbetokun expressed his gratitude for this laudable initiative during a training exersice organized, on  handling of Solar Powered Water Supply for proper maintainance, securing and protecting them from undesirable elements.

The Council Boss who was ably represented at the event by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sewanu James Makanjuola said that, the projects will enable people to get potable water  supply. He however, solicited for more of such projects in Ipokia Local Government Area.

He further charged the participants who were drawn from the benefitting communities namely, Zanu seje oke, Ori oke, Iguu, Igborodo, Gbegato, Alari, Zebe nagboto, Aholome, Ibilafon, Ijaye, Ihunbo, Iwukuseje, Whekan, Onimowo, Vahwhegbo, Ipokia Primary School Mede, Primary Health Center Agosassa, Idosuo, Oniro and Izigi to be attentive and cooperate with the training officers from Ogun State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWATSAN).

Onikoyi  implored the people to report problems that may arise in the cause of using the Solar Water Supply to the Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation department (WES) of the Council.

In his short address during the training session, the coordinator of partnership for water supply, sanitation and hygiene, an NGO, Mr Tayo Akinpelu commended the people in the council Area for thier cooperation and support during the project execution period.

In the same vein, the General manager of the Ogun state Rural water supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWATSAN) thanked Ogun state Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Aboidun, MFR for executing the projects, he appealed strongly to the people to see to the proper maintenance of the projects as this will serve as criteria for other projects that are still on the way.
