PCRC NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS: Bloody Friday in Otukpo, Benue State, Our Heartfelt Condolences

Our thoughts are with the families of the victims of the dastardly act in Otukpo Benue State yesterday, Friday 20th October, 2023, where daredevil armed robbers attacked a Police station and a commercial bank, and in the process, killed Police personnel, including the DPO, bank customers and staffs.

Again, our Police officers and men painfully paid the supreme price. With a heavy heart, we commiserate with the Nigeria Police Force, the Ag. IGP, CP Benue State, Benue State PCRC, and PCRC Otukpo.

While praying for the repose of the souls of all the victims, both Police and civilians, it is important to remind all patriotic Nigerians, including our government, on the need to better equipped the NPF both in terms of manpower, sophisticated equipments, arms and ammunition. We need Police stations with CCTV cameras, bulletproof combat vehicles, and bulletproof compartment station towers.

It is time we prioritize our internal security to save the lives of innocent Nigerians by providing answers to salient questions as to how we can prevent a repeat of what happened in Otukpo, Benue State.

All hands must be on deck to help our Police triumph over criminal elements who are exploiting our weaknesses in the areas of politics, religion, and ethnic considerations to unleash terror on innocent Nigerians. The effontry displayed by the criminals and the gory visuals in Otukpo, Benue State says it all.
