Says Worthless Statements are Meant for the Dustbin.
The National leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee, (PCRC), has called on well meaning Nigerians and members of the public to gather for the dustbin the highly nauseating and opposing statements credited to one Mr Rufai Oseni of Arise TV on the widely applauded and courageous passage of Bill exempting the Nigeria Police Force from the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and the Bill returning the Force to the old Defined Benefits Scheme (DBS) respectively.
Speaking on behalf of the National Publicity Secretary, Revd. Mrs Helen Atekha Odemwingie, JP, after appearing on a flagship program “New Dawn” on Ogun State Television (OGTV) on Friday June 9, 2023 the SSA Media and Publicity to the National Chairman, Comrade Kunle Sodipo described Mr Oseni’s comments as one that is not well thought out and filled with hidden motives against a development that has got many Police personnel and their family members across the country jumping for joy due to numerous bottlenecks and poor welfare package in the CPS for Police retirees against what is obtainable within other security agencies like the Military, DSS, NIA and others who are not in the CPS.
Comrade Sodipo advised Mr Oseni who was once caught violating traffic laws in Lagos State to stick to his political journalism and bother less about the Nigeria Police Force, since he has nothing meaningful to contribute to the development of Nigeria’s foremost Federal Security Agency.
He however assured Mr Oseni that the NPF; being the people’s security agency, will continuously strive to position Police officers and men for good welfare packages which in turn will engender productivity, professionalism and good service delivery to Nigerians.
The senior media assistant thanked all members of the National Assembly and Nigerians in general for the overwhelming support given to the Nigeria Police Management team led by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, especially on the passage of the two historic Bills.
He concluded by urging all good Nigerians and Mr Rufai Oseni to always call on the Nigeria Police for support anytime it is needed.
