PETROL PUMP PRICE NOT INCREASED TO N212, AS MINISTER APOLOGIZES TO NIGERIANS

The Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva in a press briefing, apologized to Nigerians, stating that “Irrespective of the source of the information, ( That Petrol is N212 per litre), I want to assured you that, it is completely untrue”

He affirmed that, neither Mr President,  who is the Minister of Petroleum Resources nor himself, who deputies for him as Minister of State has approved increase in petrol pump price. I therefore urged you to disregard this misleading information, he added.

He equally assured that, the engagement with the organised labour and other stakeholders will continue, even as the calculations to arrive at a reasonable price  are being done in good faith and will   availed of the final outcome at the appropriate time.

Until then, all marketers were strongly advised to maintain the current pump price of PMS before the emergence of this unfortunate information.

He stressed that, those who may want to take advantage of the situation to extort Nigerians should not give in to such temptations as there are regulatory mechanisms that government can enforce to protect its citizens.
