Ramadan Lecture: Lets Join Hands Together for the Healing of Our Land – Hon Adesina

The Executive chairman of Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa has enjoined Nigerians to join hands together to seek for the healing of Nigeria as a nation.

The chairman gave the charge in his welcome address at the local government sponsored, 2023 Annual Ramadan lecture, tagged, Ramadan: A Tool for the Socio-Economic Well-Being and Spiritual Upliftment”, held at the council’s Secretariat, Itori.

His words: ” let us use this opportunity to pray fervently for ourselves, our loved ones and for the peace and prosperity of our beloved country in this holy month. This does not excluded our christian fellows as they have just concluded the lenten period,”  the chairman said.

Hon Adesina,  stressed that Nigeria at this crucial period needs everybody’s prayer and more importantly as the nation would be ushered into a new era in her political history on May, 29th , 2023.

” So let’s pray for Nigeria to regain her lost glory and be great again,” he added.

Quoting from the Quran 2 verse 183 , ” O ye believers, fasting is enjoined on you as it was on those before you, so that you might become righteous,” the Chairman explained that, as commanded by Allah that at the period of ramadan, all Muslims Umah must observe fasting to purify their souls, do more of good deeds, uplift their faith, so that they may become righteous.

He also expressed his gratitude to the people of Ewekoro Local Government for their support during the just concluded Federal and State elections and for believing in All Progressive Congress (APC) assuring them that, they would not be disappointed and prayed that, “Nigeria will reach the promised land Insha Allah”.

While Speaking, the grand chief Imam, Ewekoro Local Government, Imam Muhydeen Lawa, commended the council boss, Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa for his good works, as well as the good character he exemplified and also for being loved by the people of the council area.

Imam Muhydeen Lawa, also, appreciated the Chairman for his government of all inclusiveness, stressing that, ever since his assumption of office as the chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, he had been carrying along the league of Imam and Alfas in the scheme of things.

He said most especially in ensuring that the selection of the guest lecturer for the Ramadan lecture was within the council area not from outside, unlike the usual practice by the previous administrations, which he said would certainly serve as an encouragement and inspiration to the Alfas and Imam in the area.

The guest lecturer, Fadeelatul – Ustaz Al- Imam Abdullah Amoo, the chief Imam, Itori police station, in his lecture, according to the theme of the 2023 ramadan lecture, implored the people to be steadfast in serving Allah and follow the laid down rules guiding their conduct and not only during the ramadan period but at all times.

The Islamic cleric advised Muslims not to return to their old ways of life which they have avoided in the course of the ramadan period.

Imam Adam Abdullah Amoo, stressed the need to show love by extending good gestures to the less privileged during and after the ramadan.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Fatai Akorede Akamo, Agbodere Kinni, Olunla of Itori land, gave the Royal charge at the event to all and sundry, including the royal fathers, politicians, Muslim clerics, Christians, and people across board present at the occasion to be in one accord with the chairman in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to nooks and crannies of the council area.

The monarch, also emphasized the need to demonstrate love, unity and oneness in order to move Ewekoro Local Government forward in particular and Nigeria in general.

Corroborating other speakers, the Alawowo of Awowo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Gafar Tijani, extolled the exemplary leadership quality of Hon Adesina Sikiru Adisa.

“Hon Adesina is hard working and it will take time and hard work for anyone to equal his record. Several times, he has come to our aid by grading and rehabilitating our roads, even not minding if they are roads that belong to the federal or state government.

“Our Chairman has really changed the face of Ewekoro Local Government,” the monarch stated enthusiastically.

Oba Abdul Gafar Tijani, therefore, sought for the consent of the other royal fathers present at the occasion to confer on the chairman, Hon Adesina, the title of “Omoluabi” of Ewekoro Local Government which was graciously and unanimously approved.

The event was witnessed by people from all walks of life, Muslim clerics, Political bigwigs, Royal fathers, People of different professions and community leaders.
