TRADERS PROTEST: SAGAMU LG CHAIRMAN, ODULATE, SUES FOR PEACE

The Executive Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Odulate, has enjoined all the traders in Sabo market of the town to always maintain peace and tranquility for the much needed socio-economic development of the Local government

Hon. Odulate made the plea while addressing traders from the Sabo Market, Sagamu, who stormed the Local Government Secretariat, to protest against shortage of shops, and the State Government non-fulfilment of its promise to repair the affected part of the Market shops that was damaged during the fire outbreak in January 2021.

 

The Chairman, in his address, thanked the traders for their cooperation, patience and understanding, assuring them of the completion of the shops very soon.

According to the Chairman, the Ogun State Governor, His Execllency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, had promised to transform Sabo Market into Ultra Modern market with social amenities, ranging from modern parking space, portable water, access roads network and toilet facilities.

Odulate revealed that the 188 shops built were the first phase of the market, with the second phase starting soon and which the Local Government, according to Odulate, had mapped his plans to complement the State Government.

He, therefore, assured the traders of enough shops and stalls that would go round the members of the association.

The LG Chairman, finally urged those affected by the fire incident to obtain forms from Gateway mortgage bank, Sagamu, as the first step in helping them to acquire the shops at affordable prices.
