The English Premier League clubs put up a five-star performance on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the Champions League matches.
It was Manchester City that opened the flood gate of victories for the English clubs in far away Belgium with the walloping of Club Brugge by five goals to one.
While Liverpool followed suit with a slim victory against Atletico Madrid. The keenly contested encounter ended by three goals to two with Mohammed Salah scoring a brace and Naby Keita registering his name on goal scorer’s sheet as well while A. Griezmann also scored a brace for Atletico Madrid but not enough to save his team from home defeat.
The Blues in a killer mood was merciless against the bottom placed, Malmoe at Stamford Bridge. The Thomas Tuchel tutored side , left no one in doubt about their mission to demolish the unlucky Malmo by scoring the 1st goal as early as 9th minute by A. Christensen.
