Women, a Key Factor in Societal Development and Nation Building- Ikenne LG. Vice Chairman

Women have been described as an important and a very key factor in societal development and nation building.
The Vice Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Abolanle Fakoya, stated this on Thursday, February 3, 2022, shortly after she was decorated by the National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, Ogun State chapter, as the first elected female Vice Chairman of the Local Government.
According to her, Women occupied a very significant place within the society, and thus plays a very vital role in societal development and nation building.
She expressed her appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, for the opportunity given to her to serve as the Vice Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, and promised not to take such for granted.
Hon. Bolanle also thanked the NCWS for the golden honour bestowed on her, she encouraged and appeal to all women in the Council Area to join the Association, because it is a platform where their voices could be heard.
On her part, the First Lady, and Wife of the Executive Chairman of the Local government, Mrs Gbemisola Ogunleye, who was decorated as the Matron of NCWS, Ikenne Local government Branch, promised to always actively support the Association.
The State President, NCWS, Olori Bola Adeyiga thanked everyone present, in particular, the honorees, for the success of the programme, and also sought the support of the Council Chairman for the progress of the Association.
The NCWS newly elected branch executive of the local government was also inaugurated at the event.
