World Thinking Day: Abeokuta Area Supritendent Charges Parent On Training Of Girl Child As Girls Guide,  Girl Scout Association Of Nigeria Marks 2024 World Thinking Day Thanksgiving Service

As the world marks global thinking Day, parents have been charged to train their children in the way of the Lord in order to build a better future and sustainable society.

Abeokuta Area superintendent and Metro Chairman of The Apostolic Church, Pastor Zacheous O Odugbose gave this charge while speaking at the 2024 World Thinking Day Thanksgiving church service held at the Apostolic Church, Ìjemò Agbadu Assembly, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The thanksgiving service put together by the Girls Guide and Girls Scout Association of Nigeria, Ogun state Chapter was attended by over one hundred members, the national Chief Commissioner, Girls Guide and Girls Scout Association of Nigeria, Deaconess Rhoda Thomas; Ogun state commissioner, comrade Moyosore; Assistant state commissioner, Mrs O. F Shittu; Reverend Mother Juliana Aluko, Assistant state commissioner and the immediate past state commissioner w Aha Mrs Modupe Kusimo was to commemorate 2024 World Thinking Day Celebration.

In his goodwill message the Abeokuta Area supritendent and Metro chairman of The Apostolic Church, Pastor Zacheous Odugbose represented by the former Ogun state head of service, Elder Sola Adéyemí underscored the importance of World Thinking Day Celebration, saying it is an avenue for girls and young women to learn how to build a better future where all girls live in an environmentally sustainable world, free of poverty.

Pastor Odugbose who described the theme of this year’s World Thinking Day celebration “Our Thriving Future: The Environment and global poverty” as apt as it explore crucial global issues such as environmental sustainability, gender equality, peace and poverty.

The Abeokuta Area superintendent who quoted from the book of Psalms 127:3, identified children as heritage from God, however challenged parents to raise Godly children that will be socially responsible to their environment.

Earlier in her address, the national Chief commissioner, Girls Guide and Girls Scout Association of Nigeria, Deaconess Rhoda Thomas disclosed that World Thinking Day is set aside for girls Guide and Girls Scout around the world to think of each other, especially those living in poverty, those forced to fight war or those suffering from the impact of a natural disaster.

The national commissioner while speaking further said, Girls Guide and Girls Scout Association is to train girls and young women to be self reliance, bold, courageous and be good citizens of the nation.

Deaconess Thomas, hinted that Girls Guide and Girls Scout Association was officially launched on August 1, 2023 at The Apostolic Church convention ground, Olorunda Ketu, an evidence of the acceptability of the Guiders, advised parents to support the Association by releasing their child to join the association to build the nation together through morals.
